Notes

This series has been ongoing for a while now. With 79 chapters so far, the first one being published all the way back in December of 2019, I figured it might be a bit hard to, well, remember everything that happened- not to mention when it happened. Not only that, but with the difference in the time scale between writing (4 years) and in-universe (not even 4 weeks), anyone following along as it was being written might have lost track of the time between events. This diagram is meant to help with all of that, along with being just a cool bit of extra HNTBL ‘content’. It’s based off the notes I’ve been keeping over the years as I worked on the series. None of the information on here is technically new, even the days of the week are implied by the stories themselves, but this gives it all at a glance.

Aside from just listing out each chapter and what in-universe day it occurred on, the timeline also includes:
- The first appearances of many characters.
- References to important/memorable events/locations (while staying mostly spoiler free)
- Separation for the various ‘arcs’ the story has gone through (effectively like seasons of a show; where larger, overarching plots are begun and resolved).
- A little mark for every chapter in which Sissy appears (because she's great).

I figure with this chart, anyone who wants to would have an easier time finding their favorite moments as the series continues to grow. Want to find that one Sissy chapter you liked? Or the ones where Granny Bea came to visit? Maybe you’re looking for one of the chapters where Fiona got to visit the hunting grounds? Or when everyone went to a certain party and things got… intense? Now you can just look over the timeline and hopefully find whatever you want- or at least get an idea of which chapters it might be in, instead of randomly clicking through all of them.

This chart actually went through a couple test iterations. At first I thought I’d do it in Excel. Then as it became less spreadsheet-y and more flow-y I thought I’d move over to Word. In the end, I actually built the whole thing in HTML with Visual Studio (I’m a programmer by trade, so it’s a tool I was already familiar with). Doing it that way meant I could change visuals like colors, fonts and spacing pretty easily without having to apply those changes manually to each bit of the chart. I’m planning to post the source HTML document on the HNTBL Discord server if you’re interested.

I’ve got to give my usual shoutout to x9comegaEka's Portal, for pitching me the original idea for this series, and working with me ever since to craft these characters and stories that I’ve come to love. It’s been a lot of fun writing these and sharing them with everyone, and I’m looking forward to all the future chapters of HNTBL I’ve yet to write.
